DOSBox is an emulator designed for running programs and games from the classic DOS operating system. It can simulate 286 and 386 processors in real and protected modes. The emulator supports various video modes found in DOS, such as Hercules, EGA, VGA, and VESA. Additionally, it can also emulate audio devices like the system speaker, Sound Blaster, Adlib, Tandy, and Gravis Ultrasound, as well as a modem when connected to TCP and IPX networks. Using DOSBox, users will find themselves revisiting old MS-DOS commands, as all interactions and functions within the emulator are based on the instructions of the vintage operating system.
